If the royal dress hadn't been McQueen...

Happy friday! Finally the Royal Wedding has taken place and the dress was McQueen! (you can read my post of the dress in Vogue MX). Of course I loved the decision although I would have loved to see a little bit more theatricality in the dress but hey, it's royalty.

If it had not been McQueen, what would you have chosen it to be? From the last bridal collections here are my favorites and the ones I've definitely would have loved to see on Kate.

Vera Wang
The floral bodice, the volume and the tulle explosion
in the hip would have made of this dress the perfect choice.
A mixture between tenderness (the floral bodice) and risqué
volume would have been a modern and avant garde choice.

Oscar de la Renta
Although this dress is strapless and Kate wouldn't have
wear something so naked the cut is just perfect. The
asymmetrical skirt and the silver ribbon detail in the
hip are just beautiful. Although the cut is quite
modern the design shows elegance and a unique
sobriety.

Monique Lhullier
Pleated bodice with V neck and a majestic skirt reminding
us of floral motifs. Certainly a design with enough balance to
be worn by future royalty.

Marchesa
This is definitely my favorite. It is what I would have imagined
for a McQueen gown. The natural motifs in the bodice are just
bizarre and majestic at the same time and the fairy tale-volume
of the skirt would have been perfect and a complete
delight to watch.

El vestido de novia siempre es esencial y un poco complicado de escoger. EL de Marchesa definitivamente es muy bello, pero que sean tan hampones me conflictua un poco.
Saludos Karlita, espero todo bien por allá.
