Shoe lust at Cibeles

Last month I was at Cibeles Fashion Week for the Ana Locking show. I've been so busy I haven't posted the photographs I took but I will soon. Here is a photo of the shoes I wore for that day, a four tone sandals from Zara. Now I'm dying for warm weather so I can ware them without socks. You like them?

The ballet McQueen shoes

The first time I saw this picture I instantly thought they were ballerina shoes (puntas). If you’ve read this blog before you know I’m a huge fan of ballet, having danced for 16 years, so when I began to see the rest of the pictures I was even more thrilled to see they were actually pumps!!



The curved heel makes them even better! Oh, big sigh….

Ever since I saw the Finsk wedges StyleScrapbook has I was hypnotized. It is not your regular stiletto definitely, it is an amazing deconstruction which at the same time is chaotic and fantastic. The responsible of this beautiful shoes is Julia Lundsten, combining materials such as leather and wood to create her artworks. Here are some

I’m obsessed with this blue and gray wedges… I guess I will look for Finsk next year in London. Long live deconstructed shoes!

Mirror, mirror on the shoe

Yesterday I saw in ASVOFF Blog the creations of Andreia Chaves, a Brazilian shoe designer. Her works of art portray the chaos and beauty of living in Sao Pablo, and they reflect an incredible craftsmanship. She grew up in Sao Pablo and later studied in Florence which at the same time give her an insight to the contrast between cultures and visual expressions. The Invisible Shoe is just one of her many designs that tend to be symmetrical, made from mirrors that reflect the environment making the shoes invisible. Another example is the Form and Texture Shoe which mix leather and wood to create a very ordered chaos of cubes. No doubt these shoes can be considered works of art more than wearable shoes, but no one can’t deny it wouldn’t be lovely to have a storm of mirrors at their feet.
