Olé, Olé

My life has been invaded with yellow and red. Even the Loewe shops got in the mood with their windows full of yellow and red balloons. Spain is still celebrating the victory in the World Cup and everyone is very proud of it. Monday was a massive party in the main streets, I was in Gran Via street and you couldn't see where the crowd ended. Everyone, Spanish people and foreigners, were cheering for the winning team, screaming "Olé, Olé, Olé, Campeones, Campeones" You could feel that spirit of excitement in the air. I loved how some girls stylized the Spanish flag to make it part of their outfits. I loved the girl with the dog! The heat is unbearable some days, we've been like 34º (93.2ºF I think). Thanks to this I've seen the spanish summer style and I have to say, women are very classy here; lots of beige, nude dresses and clogs (I just got ones!). Well, got to go, tomorrow is kind of a long day, full of sightseeing and shopping. Stay tuned!

Ciao Ragazzi!

image

Ciao Ragazzi! I’m leaving for three weeks to Spain and Italy and I hope I can post there. I thought packing was easy… until I had to decide which lenses I was going to take for the trip (they weight like a ton), so I should take a lot of pictures which I expect to show you soon. If I can I’ll also do some street style photographs as well. Hope you are having an extraordinary vacation and an amazing time this summer!

Chanel & Dior Couture F10

Chanel Couture Fall 2010

Dior Couture Fall 2010

Between Imperial inspiration and the garden of Alice in Wonderland, this two collections are my favorites so far. Lagerfeld went for a bold palette, navy, wine red, camel with golden details; something of that amazing craftsmanship remind me of a forgotten Russian empire. Galliano went for the representation of a very colorful spring, and as always, the collection couldn’t be more theatrical. With idyllic inspiration as well as photographic, Galliano created tulips, among other flowers, in organza, completing them with the help of Stephen Jones, who created those plastic head pieces that just nail the eccentricity of the couture collection of Dior. These two collections are a clear example that couture is not just about the craziest dreams of their creators but it is also about the artistic work the two ateliers have achieved in their long lives, making fantasies a reality.

Sugar, Sugar

Marvelous, sweetly marvelous. I think this might be one of my favorite editorials of the year so far. The pink bob, the styling, the whole palette of colors in the shoot, the model direction, Natalia, Craig McDean…. i love it all! Natalia Vodianova does an amazing job going high fashion in cotton candy colors, and McDean… well you know how I feel about his work, he is full of talent. This editorial remembers me of cotton candy ice cream, my favorite colors and how sweet life can be… as well as fashion.

Wish I could have a bob like that!
