MFW: Salvatore Ferragamo SS11

Massimiliano Giornetti did a marvelous job with this SS11 Ferragamo collection. The peasant/ gypsy vibe was almost in all the looks, playing with the tailoring and fabrics to achieve this essence. The silhouette was very feminine, and the resemblance to past ages was pretty much clear.

MFW: Dolce & Gabbana SS11

Mediterranean weddings were the inspiration for this Dolce and Gabbana SS11 collection. You can see clearly the influence of the Greek allure, taking the ensembles to the epitome of romanticism. The combination of lace and cotton made it quite perfect for Spring, even the hair, with a very relaxed chignon, played an important part of creating this particular mood. I loved it completely, it reminds me so much of the little white houses in Greece and the playfullness of Capri.

MFW: Prada Details SS11

Everyone went bananas over Prada SS11. The critics praised for being a perfectly executed statement, Miuccia Prada has made an impact in fashion once again. The Caribbean vibes were accentuated not only by the marvelous soundtrack but also by the allure each of the looks had, transporting us to a colorful jungle, full of stripes, big hats, rainbow monkeys and tons of bananas. It’s true a lot of people will find this collection overwhelming, due to the confusing appearances (or should I say marvelous?) of fur, a hair inspired by the twenties, and the bizarre shoes all mixed to give an idea of a tropical vacation. But truth is only Miuccia could pull off a collection like this and whether we like it or not, we have to accept, this is a fashion statement.

90th anniversary of Vogue Paris

Photographed by Mert & Marcus, Lara Stone appears subliminal in the 90th anniversary of Vogue Paris for October 2010 issue. The 662 page magazine will be sold in France with a portfolio full of photographs from their 9 decades, so you know what to buy if your in France next month. I’m very happy to announce this is my 100th post as well, and I couldn’t be happier for it, this blog has given me the best experiences and I’ve learned so much I can’t begin to describe it. Thanks to all of you who take the time to read what I’ve to say sometimes.

MFW: Versace SS11

Versace was full of bright colors and frets, playing with a futuristic and minimalistic silhouette all along. Donatella decided to go for the safe way, offering a sexy collection, sophisticated and clean. Fun was added with tons of fringes and multi color patterns. The shoes that resembled geometric waves were my favorite, especially the red ones, and even though this was not the best collection we’ve seen from Versace it’s for sure a pretty one.
