Best Female Fashion Blog!

Yesterday, the Blog Awards came to an end and guess what? Mademoiselle Karla won Best Female Fashion Blog!!! The competition was very tight, even in the other categories, but I'm so happy and I can't do more but thank all of you who voted, dear readers, family and friends. Thanks too to Privalia, who has been awesome with the blogger community, we had so much fun with this competition haha.

On Monday they will announce the prizes and the date of the Blogger's Day, so expect tons of pictures with my fellow friends, winners and bloggers. Meanwhile, I'll keep relaxing with this well deserved mini vacations in the beach. Photos coming soon!

Flash Recap

Ok, so there's so much I wanted to tell you these past weeks but unfortunately my Macbook died. Still don't know if it will make it but keep you fingers crossed. Meanwhile, I'll resume in a very quick news update the following events.

B/Vloggers
As I told you, the B/Vloggers event took place two weeks ago and it was a major success. The panel, in which BoticaPop, NeonDelirium and myself spoke was amazing and I think it turned out very well. Congratulations to the PR association who organized this event, and thanks to all of you who watched it via stream or went to support us and hear everything we had to share. In case you were wondering what I wore, I went for striped pants from Zara, button shirt with high neck, Asos metallic envelope, studded bracelet and my very own Wonder Woman choker.
I fell in love with this pants since I saw them in AfterDrk, and I couldn't resist wearing them in such a special occasion, even if the hubby calls them the Beetlejuice Pants.


Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Mexico AW12
Yesterday Mexico's most exclusive fashion week started. This year, the official sporkesperon is no more and no less than Miss Lara Stone herself. In the video made for the occasion, Lara appears as a very modern and sophisticated Dorothy, being lifted in the air by a tornado.



Elegance and luxury are the main values for Mercedes Benz, but it's good to see the designers featuring in this edition are beyond those elements. Pink Magnolia is a great example of what a young and fresh brand can achieve with few resources. And I'm not speaking in terms of finances, but the collection showed it self as simply marvelous. The theme was Madeline Rocks, and as you might remember the heroine from the books and cartoons, the capes, the berets and the A line coats in blue were the everyday uniform of this Parisian child.

Paola Wong and Cuca Díaz, the girls behind Pink Magnolia, did a terrific job with this romantic and french themed collection. Red, pink and cobalt blue were the main colors of the palette, a perfect choice for an autumn outfit, spiced by a heart motif in prints and sunglasses (in love with them). The use of bows and ribbons in button shirts didn't feel repetitive, on the contrary, it was a fresh touch to the parisian allure, as well as the transparencies in pleated dresses.

Surviving Fashion Week Part I

Even though we are not in the mere chaos of the fashion weeks, you have to admit is a bloody hell to keep up with every single show. No matter how hard you try or how often you check your Reader (I have a love-hate relationship with it) you end up missing more collections than you wish. The thing is, I discovered I'm kind of an information hoarder... hard to admit, but I get a little bit freaked out if I see more than 400 posts unread. Gotta look at every single look, every single detail, and believe me, I enjoy doing that, though at the end of the day it's an overload of information. The key to avoid an overdose of runway pictures and street style photographs these days is the media you use.

Weeks ago I was blessed with an IPad, and I mean really blessed because now I wouldn't know how to clasify all my information without it. The apps are God's creation, I tell you, and several can turn to be the perfect medicine to survive fashion weeks' overload nightmare. If you happen to be as fashion hungry as I am and have an IPad / IPhone, here are the apps you can't miss.

The Cut
For the rigorous daily dose of fashion every morning, The Cut is THE app. The design is not only friendly but really organized, perfect for the control freaks like moi. As soon as you tap the app you are received with the latest fashion shows. The grid of photographs is a delight and it rarely shuts down. The News button lets you surf smoothly through the published posts including Look of the day, Things to Watch, Quotables and other great sections with the latest gossip from the fashion world. But if there's one element that really drives me crazy like a teenager in a Bieber's concert (poor reference...) is the Looks button. There you can search by clothing, color, material, season/type, you name it. It really makes the search for a trend very easy and quick.

The Collection
The official app of the New York Times' Fashion and Style section will make you head over heels. The interface is very tumblr-ish, but just by tapping in the pictures you'll enjoy every image in the best resolution. The pictures sections such as Photos of the Moment are a delight in the IPad. As well as The Cut's app, The Collection includes a Runway section and a Street Style section, the latter right from Bill Cunningham's lense.

Instagram
You may ask, why would you choose Instagram as a must in the fashion weeks? Truth be told, there's no app as inmediate as Instagram (except for Twitter but that's just too messy). By following the right people, you'll have access to the collections in real time. The key for this app to be useful is the people you follow, so I decided to make you a fast and ready to go list:
